Starrylady * Research
During her undergraduate years, Lesa worked on cataloguing and digitisation of old photographic plates from Sydney Observatory. Subsequently, Lesa completed a Master of Philosophy in Astronomy and is a former member of Macquarie University's Astronomy Group.

Masters Topic (2008): An Ultra-Deep Survey of Low Surface Brightness Galaxies in Virgo.
This research utilised an ultra-deep image centred on the core of the Virgo Cluster to discover new LSB galaxies and compare the data with previously published work.
  • Highlights of trip to Gemini North Telescope in Hawai'i, 2006.
  • HWWS and the ASA Annual Science Meeting, 2006 - Photos with friends.
  • Lesa served on the local organising committees for the Harley Wood Winter School 2007 and the Astronomical Society of Australia's Annual Science Meeting 2007.
Honours Project (2003): 6dFGS: Quality and Repeatability of Galaxy Survey Observations using Multi-Object Fibre Spectroscopy.
This project examined sources of uncertainty in galaxy redshift measurements and assessed criteria for obtaining a reliable redshift.
